Noopept is a synthetic dipeptide analogue of piracetam with a claimed potency 1000 times higher at comparable doses. Developed at the Zakusov Research Institute of Pharmacology. The manufacturer claims cholinergic, antioxidant, and neuroprotective action and increased hippocampal BDNF and NGF in rodents. In humans, large independent RCTs with validated cognitive scale endpoints do not exist.
The drug is promoted for these uses outside international guidelines. Each entry below is analyzed against AEMPS, FDA, EMA, Cochrane and major RCTs.

Noopept is a Russian synthetic nootropic promoted in biohacker and student communities as a new-generation drug for concentration before exams or deadlines. Outside Russia it is sold through grey-market channels as a dietary supplement. There are no independent international clinical studies in healthy adults: effects on working memory, attention, or productivity have not been confirmed. The , , and AEMPS have not approved noopept. It is not included in any international clinical guidelines. If noopept was recommended for concentration, exam preparation, or after a head injury, consider seeking a second opinion: there is no evidence base for these uses.
