Amyl Cinnamal is a synthetic fragrance ingredient with a jasmine scent. A cinnamic aldehyde derivative with an amyl side chain. Where applied. Perfumery and cosmetic scenting – creams, shampoos, shower gels, deodorants. Perfumery concentration up to 1%. Safety and regulation. On the EU list of 26 mandatory fragrance allergens (Regulation 1223/2009). Contact dermatitis in 2–4% of the population, higher in patients with polyvalent fragrance allergy.
