Read a paper, see the methodology flaws

Open a study; the side panel scores it against a 45-item appraisal checklist and checks it against retraction and comment registries. Built for doctors and students who read past the abstract

Two layers, on purpose

Registries – verified, no AI

By DOI it checks Crossref for retraction and concern flags, links out to PubPeer and Retraction Watch, and detects trial-registration IDs in the text. These signals come from registries, so they can't be made up

Checklist appraisal

A methodology checklist built from CASP, the JAMA Users' Guides, CONSORT, STROBE, PRISMA, Oxford CEBM and GRADE scores each item with a plain finding and a quote from the paper. It says "unclear" when the text does not let it decide

What it checks

45 items across seven sections:

  • Study type & design
  • Population & PICO
  • Bias & internal validity
  • Statistics & results
  • Reporting & registration
  • Conflicts & integrity
  • Applicability

Privacy

The extension runs in your browser. Appraising a paper sends the page text to the model under your key; registry checks send only the DOI. Nothing goes to an Evigrade server

A reading aid, not a verdict. It cannot detect fabricated data, image manipulation, or errors in the raw dataset. A clean checklist does not mean a paper is correct
