“Prostate cancer prevention” (marketing claim)

Marketing claim of «prostate cancer prevention supplements». No guideline frames a primary prostate cancer prevention strategy: SEOM 2024 and AUA 2023 advise only shared decision-making on PSA screening in men aged 50–69 (or from 45 with family history), smoking cessation and obesity control. EFSA has rejected all health claims for lycopene and other carotenoids. The claim drives sales of lycopene, selenium, zinc, saw palmetto extract and combo supplements.
