Mechanism
Omeprazole weakly blocks CYP3A4; alprazolam plasma levels may rise slightly. The effect is clinically weak.
Symptoms
Minimal changes: mild additional sedation in some patients. Older patients: rare ataxia.
Management
Dose adjustment is usually unnecessary. In older patients and prolonged therapy, monitor cognition and fall risk.
