Mechanism
Both strongly prolong QT (amiodarone 30-50 ms, sotalol 30 ms). Additive prolongation – torsades de pointes.
Symptoms
QTc above 500 ms, syncope, torsades de pointes risk.
Management
Combination contraindicated. Choose one antiarrhythmic.
