ModerateDietary supplements, plant adaptogens (local classification)×Herbal sedative, EMA HMPC traditional herbal medicinal product
Updated · Methodology
Mechanism
Two sedative herbs in the same evening dose. The effect adds up without the packaging warning about it, because each preparation is presented as mild on its own. The combination appears by itself in someone who tries sleep remedies one after another and ends up taking them together.
Symptoms
Daytime sedation, difficulty waking, clumsiness when driving or operating machinery. With alcohol or any added sedative drug the effect grows.
Management
Pick one of the two and judge the result over two weeks. If insomnia persists despite the combination, the way forward is not adding a third herb but reviewing the cause: apnoea, night pain, late caffeine or an activating drug.
Check the full regimen, not just this pair
Opens the checker with these two drugs prefilled. Add the rest of the regimen and recompute additive risks.
