Mechanism
Tranylcypromine irreversibly inhibits MAO. Tramadol inhibits serotonin reuptake. Combination causes fatal serotonin syndrome.
Symptoms
Hyperthermia, myoclonus, agitation, seizures.
Management
Combination contraindicated. Alternative analgesic: paracetamol.
