Anethole (INCI: Anethole) is an aromatic fragrance component. It gives the characteristic smell of anise and is used to scent cosmetic formulas, not to care for skin. This is a functional, fragrance-linked ingredient, not a skincare active. Its only role is scent. No benefit on wrinkles, pigment or texture should be expected from it. In topical use at low perfumery concentrations it has no systemic relevance, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
