Cocoyl Proline is an amino-acid-type surfactant made by combining coconut fatty acids with the amino acid proline. It cleanses gently and goes into gels and foams designed for skin-respectful cleansing. This is a functional component, not a skincare active. Its job is technical: it carries off oil and dirt without stripping the barrier all at once, and helps a creamy, comfortable foam. It has no corrective effect of its own. It acts at the surface and rinses off, with no meaningful systemic absorption, so it is compatible with pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good: low irritation potential, low allergy risk, and mild surfactant harshness. Compared with classic harsher surfactants, it dries less, which makes it suitable for sensitive skin and for those who feel tightness from strong cleansers.
