Dimethylsilanol Hyaluronate is a silicone modification of hyaluronic acid, with an organosilicon fragment attached to the hyaluronate molecule. Produced as an 'improved' form with better distribution and penetration. Mechanism. Manufacturers market it as a 'silicon bio-carrier' for skin: they propose that the molecule delivers silicon to deeper skin layers via hyaluronic acid. On real skin the penetration and effect on connective tissue synthesis are not characterized. Humectant properties of the hyaluronic portion are confirmed. Where applied. Anti-aging serums and creams from French manufacturers (LPG Endermo Soin, Esthederm), mesotherapy preparations, ampoules. In Spain – niche French lines in cosmetology clinics, injectable mesotherapy. Evidence base. No direct clinical RCTs on topical use. For injectable forms (intradermal mesotherapy) there are isolated open-label studies – Tedeschi 2010 showed tone and elasticity improvement at 4-8 weeks after a procedure series. Topical data are marketing. Safety. CIR has not issued a direct evaluation. Hypoallergenic by components. Rare reactions possible in patients with severe sulfonamide or organosilicon allergies. Pregnancy and lactation – safe topically at standard cosmetic concentrations. Injectable mesotherapy in pregnancy isn't done per Spanish SEME consensus. Best suited to: mature skin within anti-aging programs. Topically – a functional humectant component. Don't expect an advantage over regular hyaluronic acid – no evidentiary difference.
