In a formula it works as an emollient and gives creams and sticks body and density. This is a functional component, not a skincare active. Its job is texture and a softer feel: skin glides smooth after application and the oil phase holds its structure. Don't expect a corrective effect, that isn't its role. In topical use it has no systemic relevance, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding without trouble. Tolerance is good, with low irritation and allergy potential.
