Nitrogen (INCI: Nitrogen) is an inert gas used as a propellant and protective gas in aerosols and airless packaging. It pushes the product out when you press and displaces oxygen inside the container, slowing oxidation of the formula. It is not a skincare active in any sense. It is a purely functional ingredient: it does not hydrate, soothe, or affect the skin. Its job ends with packaging mechanics and shelf stability. Expecting a cosmetic benefit from it makes no sense. Being inert, it has no systemic relevance topically, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding without concern. Tolerance is complete: irritation and allergy potential are nil, suitable for any skin type, including the most sensitive.
