Mechanism
Tranylcypromine is an irreversible MAOI. Combined with fluoxetine causes serotonin syndrome. AEMPS Parnate Section 4.3.
Symptoms
Hyperthermia, myoclonus, tachycardia, hypertension.
Management
Combination contraindicated. 5-week washout from fluoxetine.
