Disodium PEG-5 Laurylcitrate Sulfosuccinate is a sulfosuccinate-type surfactant, listed in INCI under the same name. Sulfosuccinates cleanse gently, which is why they are chosen for formulas aimed at sensitive skin and for the eye area. This is a functional cleansing component, not a treatment active. It provides foam and comfort during washing, but it does not work on wrinkles or pigmentation. Its value is in cleansing while respecting the skin barrier. Applied topically it has no systemic relevance, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good; it is a mild surfactant with low irritation and allergy potential, suitable for sensitive skin. At usual levels it dries little and rarely causes reactions.
