PEG-45 Palm Kernel Glycerides is a mild emulsifier and co-surfactant made from palm kernel oil, listed in INCI under the same name. In a formula it joins oil and water while also helping to cleanse gently. It shows up in cleansing oils and milky makeup removers. This is a functional component, not a skincare active. It gives the product structure and improves rinse-off, but it does not work on wrinkles or pigmentation. Its value is in making the formula stable and pleasant to use. Applied topically it has no systemic relevance, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good; it is a mild surfactant with low irritation and allergy potential. At usual levels it dries little and rarely causes reactions, even on more delicate skin.
