Rice Extract (Oryza Sativa Extract) is a hydro-ethanolic extract of whole rice grain or its parts. Composition varies: ferulic acid, gamma-oryzanol, amino acids, oligopeptides, minerals. Compared with Oryza Sativa Bran Extract – broader composition without husk focus. Mechanism. Tyrosinase suppression in melanocytes – brightening effect. In Japan and Korea – the basis of premium lines (SK-II Pitera in fermented form). In Spain in Sesderma and Endocare lines. Concentration 0.5–5%. Evidence base. Few clinical RCTs on the pure topical extract – the evidence base lies closer to fermented rice extract (galactomyces ferment). CIR confirmed safety. Safety. Hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic.
