It gives structure to sticks and creams and leaves a water-resistant finish, useful in lipsticks and long-wear products. This is a functional ingredient, not a skincare active. Its contribution is texture and finish hold, not treatment. No effect on wrinkles or pigment should be expected. Because of its topical use and lack of meaningful systemic uptake, it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding without restriction. Tolerance is good. Irritation and allergy potential are both low, so it is comfortable on sensitive skin too. It is an inert material that most skin carries without trouble.
