It is primarily a fragrancing-conditioning botanical component rather than a strong antioxidant active, because the fruit extract holds little active material. Allergenicity. Citrus contains limonene and other volatile compounds counted among potential fragrance allergens. A reaction is possible in sensitized people. Pregnancy safety. Topical use is systemically negligible, with no evidence of harm, but with sensitivity to citrus it is best introduced cautiously.
