Copper chelate with pyrrolidone carboxylic acid. In skincare it's a claimed antioxidant, copper source for elastin synthesis. Evidence is limited.

Copper chelate with potential anti-aging effect. RCTs are limited.
Copper PCA is a copper chelate with pyrrolidone carboxylic acid (pyroglutamic acid). PCA is part of the natural moisturizing factor (NMF) of the stratum corneum, and copper is a cofactor for lysyl oxidase, the enzyme that cross-links collagen and elastin in the dermis. Mechanism. In skincare it's marketed as a 'copper delivery vehicle' to skin – with the idea that copper supports elastin synthesis and antioxidant enzymes (superoxide dismutase). The molecule is water-soluble and more stable than free copper salts, which makes it easier to include in water-based formulas. Where applied. Anti-aging serums, mature-skin creams, formulas for skin density and facial contour. In Spain it appears in niche K-beauty lines and in some Sesderma, Mesoestetic products. Evidence base. No direct RCTs on Copper PCA. Main data come by analogy with GHK-Cu (copper peptides) and the general role of copper in connective tissue synthesis. At skin level it isn't known whether the molecule reaches the dermis and acts there as a cofactor. Claims of 'elastin synthesis support' are extrapolation from lab models. Safety. CIR confirmed Copper PCA safe in cosmetic use. Low potential for irritation and allergy. Systemic absorption through intact skin is low. Pregnancy and lactation – safe topically at standard cosmetic concentrations. Oral copper is needed; topical concentrations in skincare aren't systemically meaningful. Best suited to: mature skin without active inflammation. Not first-line anti-age – the real work is done by retinoids, vitamin C, and peptides with proven activity (e.g., Matrixyl, Argireline). Copper PCA is a complementary component in multi-ingredient formulas.

The Evigrade extension adds an evidence panel to Wildberries, Goldapple, Letu, iHerb, Sephora and 12 more stores. This ingredient and every other one in the product show evidence-tier, allergen risk and pregnancy/lactation flags at a glance.
Copper PCA is considered safe during pregnancy at typical cosmetic concentrations. Systemic absorption through the skin is minimal.
Copper PCA suits: normal, dry, oily, combination. Use with caution in: sensitive.
