Copper Sulfate is a mineral copper salt, a source of copper ions. INCI: Copper Sulfate. In a formula it works as a conditioning and astringent component, a source of the trace element copper, and it sometimes supports antimicrobial defense. Copper takes part in skin enzymes and in the synthesis of matrix components. The biological role of copper is known, but in cosmetics a meaningful skincare effect is more often linked to copper peptides than to the plain salt. So it is a supporting functional component rather than a potent active. It is used in small amounts. Pregnancy safety. At cosmetic concentrations topical use is systemically negligible, with no evidence of harm. It can be used during pregnancy and lactation. Tolerance.
