A soothing plant extract. Safe.
Corydalis root extract (INCI Corydalis Turtschaninovii Root Extract) comes from the root of this plant and supplies alkaloids and other plant compounds. In cosmetics it is used for a soothing effect and to support a feeling of skin comfort. On efficacy, the plant has been studied more in other contexts than in skin application, and clinical evidence for this extract in cosmetics is scarce. The prudent view is to understand it as a supporting component within soothing formulas rather than an active with solidly proven skin benefits. In cosmetic topical use it has no systemic relevance, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good: low irritation and low allergy risk, suitable for sensitive skin. An individual reaction is possible but uncommon.
