A citrus flavonoid derived from hesperidin. In cosmetics it is used as a vascular-supporting ingredient in anti-redness and anti-age eye products. The manufacturer claims reduced capillary permeability and lessened dark circles and puffiness. Found in well-known eye complexes (Eyeliss, Haloxyl).
Topical application
BLimited evidence. One RCT or several controlled studies with limitations.
Clinical studies within peptide-flavonoid complexes (Eyeliss, Haloxyl) showed reduction in dark circles by instrumental measurements. No independent head-to-head comparisons with other approaches (caffeine, vitamin K, pigment correctors).
Hesperidin Methyl Chalcone (HMC) is a modified flavonoid from citrus, the methylated chalcone derivative of hesperidin. Used in cosmetics as a vascular-supporting ingredient. Mechanism. Reduces capillary permeability via hyaluronidase and elastase inhibition. Reduces plasma and pigment molecule extravasation from periorbital capillaries – theoretically reduces dark circles and puffiness. Where applied. Eye-area creams (0.5-2%), dark-circle and couperose formulas. Included in ready-made ingredient complexes Eyeliss and Haloxyl by Sederma – marketing "actives" in premium eye creams. Evidence base. Sederma cites 28-day studies in 22 volunteers: under-eye bag reduction by 70%, dark circles by 60% with 2% HMC + dipeptide-2. Few independent peer-reviewed RCTs. Safety. CIR confirmed safety. Hypoallergenic. Pregnancy – safe topically. Lactation – no data, but topical use poses no documented systemic risk.

The Evigrade extension adds an evidence panel to Wildberries, Goldapple, Letu, iHerb, Sephora and 12 more stores. This ingredient and every other one in the product show evidence-tier, allergen risk and pregnancy/lactation flags at a glance.
Hesperidin Methyl Chalcone is considered safe during pregnancy at typical cosmetic concentrations. Systemic absorption through the skin is minimal.
