About this ingredient
Pistacia Lentiscus Gum is a natural resin, the well-known mastic gum. Its INCI is Pistacia Lentiscus Gum. In cosmetics it forms a soft, mattifying film and helps SPF and makeup stay put on the skin. It is a functional, textural component, not a treatment active. Its job is to give a matte finish, improve product adhesion and a light feel on the skin. It does not deeply hydrate or correct signs of age, so place it in its real role. Topically it has no systemic impact, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good and irritation and allergy risk are low. It suits sensitive skin. As it is not an occlusive oil, it rarely causes problems on oily or acne-prone skin.
