Gellan Gum is a polysaccharide produced by bacterial fermentation. INCI: Gellan Gum. In a formula it works as a thickener, gelling agent, and suspending agent: it raises viscosity, forms a gel, keeps bubbles, particles, and oil droplets suspended, and gives clear formulas a stable structure. It is a functional rheology component, not a skincare active. Pregnancy safety. The large molecule does not penetrate skin, is systemically negligible, and there is no evidence of harm. It can be used during pregnancy and lactation. Tolerance. Irritation and allergen potential are low, suitable for sensitive skin.
