About this ingredient
Carob gum is a plant polysaccharide from the seeds of Ceratonia siliqua. INCI: Ceratonia Siliqua (Carob) Gum. In a formula it works as a thickener and stabilizer: it raises the viscosity of the water phase, keeps components in a uniform structure, and gives gels and creams a smooth texture. It is a functional plant-derived rheology component, not a skincare active. Pregnancy safety. The large molecule does not penetrate skin, is systemically negligible, and there is no evidence of harm. It can be used during pregnancy and lactation. Tolerance. Irritation and allergen potential are low, suitable for sensitive skin.
