A moisturizing plant extract. Safe.
Carob fruit extract (INCI: Ceratonia Siliqua Fruit Extract) is obtained from carob pods, rich in natural sugars. In a formula it works as a humectant: it draws water and forms a soft film that gives a smooth feel. This is a functional supporting ingredient, closer to a texture agent with light hydration than to a treatment active. It improves the product's feel, but it does not correct wrinkles or pigment. Topically it has no systemic relevance, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Good tolerance: low risk of irritation and allergy, suitable for sensitive skin. It adds no oily load, so it suits most skin types.

Ceratonia Siliqua Fruit Extract is considered safe during pregnancy at typical cosmetic concentrations. Systemic absorption through the skin is minimal.
