Vaccinium Macrocarpon Seed Oil (cranberry seed oil) stands out for its balanced omega fatty acid profile, with an unusual ratio of omega-3, omega-6 and omega-9. In a formula it works as an emollient and barrier support: it supplies skin-friendly lipids and improves softness and comfort. As an active it is a good emollient. Its essential fatty acids and natural vitamin E make it nourishing without feeling heavy, useful for dry or barrier-weakened skin. It is not a proven anti-aging active, but it does its daily lipid-care job well. Topically there is no relevant systemic uptake, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good: low irritation and allergy, suitable for sensitive skin. Comedogenicity is minimal, so it fits even combination skin. Anyone with a known berry allergy can patch test first as a precaution.
