Vaccinium Macrocarpon Fruit Extract is the extract from cranberry fruit. It provides vitamin C, flavonoids and proanthocyanidins, compounds with good antioxidant capacity. In cosmetics it is used to help defend the skin against oxidative stress and as a fruity image ingredient. As an active it is a supporting antioxidant. The polyphenol profile reasonably backs that role, though specific clinical data in cosmetics are limited and much derives from the fruit in general. It fits as a complement in antioxidant formulas rather than as their only active component.
