Vitis Vinifera Fruit Cell Extract (INCI Vitis Vinifera Fruit Cell Extract) is a biotech-derived grape fruit cell culture containing polyphenols and resveratrol. In a formula it works as an antioxidant botanical: it helps neutralise free radicals and support an even skin tone. The efficacy approach is balanced. The antioxidant properties of grape polyphenols are shown in the lab, but at the final cosmetic concentration the effect is more supporting than a pronounced anti-ageing one. This is a supporting ingredient with a pleasant image, not a proven strong active on the level of vitamin C. As part of an antioxidant formula it has its place. During pregnancy and breastfeeding it can be used. Applied topically in a product the ingredient is systemically negligible, with no restrictions. Tolerance is good. The irritation potential is low, the allergy risk is low, and the ingredient suits sensitive skin. Plant cell extracts of this kind usually behave calmly.
