Topical application
BLimited evidence. One RCT or several controlled studies with limitations.
A hydrating plant extract. Safe.
Cocos Nucifera Fruit Extract (coconut fruit extract) supplies sugars and amino acids. Unlike coconut oil, it is a water-based fraction that works as a mild humectant: it helps draw water into the stratum corneum and leaves skin more supple and comfortable. As an active it is a supporting component. The hydration is light, handy for reinforcing a formula's water phase, but it is not a standalone treatment. There is no solid data for strong anti-aging or repairing effects, so it is fairer to present it as an auxiliary humectant. Topically the systemic contribution is negligible, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good: low irritation and allergy, suitable for sensitive skin. Unlike more occlusive coconut oils, this water-based extract has no meaningful comedogenic profile and fits almost any skin type.
