Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate is a mild anionic surfactant of the isethionate class. INCI: Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate. In a formula it works as a cleansing and foaming agent: it gives a creamy dense foam, cleanses gently, and is noticeably milder than lauryl sulfates. It is one of the most gentle cleansing surfactants, used in syndet bars, foams, and sensitive-skin products as the base of a mild cleansing formula. Pregnancy safety. The product rinses off, systemic absorption is negligible, and there is no evidence of harm. It can be used during pregnancy and lactation. Tolerance. Irritation and allergen potential are low, suitable for dry and sensitive skin.
