Sodium Cocoamphoacetate is an amphoteric surfactant from coconut feedstock. INCI: Sodium Cocoamphoacetate. In a formula it works as a mild cleansing and foaming co-surfactant, softening the action of stronger anionic surfactants and stabilizing foam. It is used in face washes, shampoos, baby and gentle products where the mildness of the cleansing base matters. It is rarely the main cleansing agent and works paired with other surfactants. Pregnancy safety. The product rinses off, systemic absorption is negligible, and there is no evidence of harm. It can be used during pregnancy and lactation. Tolerance. Irritation and allergen potential are low, suitable for sensitive skin. There are no active effects of its own; it is a functional co-surfactant.
