Sodium Lauroyl Oat Amino Acids is a mild surfactant made by joining lauric acid with oat-derived amino acids. In a formula it cleanses the skin, builds a creamy foam and lifts away oil and grime without straining the barrier. You see it mostly in facial gels, foaming washes and shampoos aimed at sensitive skin. This is a functional ingredient, not a treatment active. Its real worth is gentle cleansing: thanks to its amino-acid backbone it stays close to skin pH and behaves more softly than classic sulfates. Do not expect anti-aging or repair effects, that is not its job. With topical use systemic absorption is negligible, so you can use it during pregnancy and breastfeeding without concern. Tolerance is good. Both irritation and allergy potential are low, which makes it a fit for sensitive and reactive skin. As a mild cleanser it rarely dries the skin, though rinsing well helps when you layer several products in one routine.
