A nonionic surfactant and emulsifier. It blends oil with water and stabilizes the formula. Well tolerated.
Topical application
BLimited evidence. One RCT or several controlled studies with limitations.
A functional surfactant and emulsifier. Safe.
Trideceth-10 is a nonionic ethoxylated surfactant that works as an emulsifier. It binds the oil phase to the water phase, helps solubilize components and stabilizes the formula so it keeps a uniform texture. This is a functional ingredient, not a skincare active. Its job is structural: keeping the emulsion stable and uniform, without providing a direct skin benefit. So it is judged by the product's behavior, not by an effect on skin. Applied topically it has no systemic relevance, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good. Irritation and allergy potential are low, which makes it suitable for sensitive skin. At usual cosmetic concentrations most people show no reaction.
