Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Oleosomes are natural oil capsules from safflower. Each oleosome holds plant oil within its own membrane, so the oil is released gradually as the product is applied and rubbed in. This is a functional emollient. It softens the surface and gives a light feel, while also serving as a natural carrier that helps distribute and meter the oil phase. It is not a corrective active: its value lies in texture and a pleasant surface hydration. Its action is limited to the outer skin layer, with no meaningful systemic absorption, so it is compatible with pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good, with low irritation potential and low allergy risk. Comedogenicity is very low (1). Since it comes from safflower, people with very specific plant allergies should check the full formula, though reactions are uncommon.
