A functional co-surfactant. Safe.
PEG-60 Almond Glycerides is a mild co-surfactant and solubilizer derived from sweet almond oil. It helps dissolve oils and essential oils in water-based formulas, softens skin, and gives a pleasant feel in cleansers and micellar waters. This is a functional component, not a skincare active. Its job is technical: it brings the oil phase into the water phase and improves feel. It has no corrective effect on skin. It acts in the formula and at the surface, with no meaningful systemic absorption, so it is compatible with pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good: low irritation potential, low allergy risk, and mild surfactant harshness, which limits the risk of drying. Since it comes from almond, people with a known tree-nut allergy should check the full formula before use, though processing greatly reduces the presence of allergenic proteins.
