This is a functional component, not a skincare active. Its value lies in product stability and texture: it brings oils into water and prevents separation. It has no treatment action on the skin, so its efficacy is measured by technical performance rather than visible results. Applied topically it has no systemic relevance, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good, with low irritation potential and low allergy risk, suitable for sensitive skin. It is a mild surfactant that does not dry noticeably at use levels.
