PEG/PPG-14/4 Dimethicone is an emulsifying silicone with mixed polyethylene and polypropylene glycol chains. It stabilizes emulsions, especially water-in-silicone types, and helps an even, smooth spread of the product on skin. This is a functional component, not an active. Its value lies in formula structure: it keeps the emulsion stable, improves texture, and leaves a smooth finish. It does not correct visible skin signs. It stays in the formula and at the skin surface, with no meaningful systemic absorption, so it is compatible with pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good, with low irritation potential and low allergy risk, suitable for sensitive skin. It is common in makeup bases and sunscreens for its ability to give an even spread without a heavy feel.
