A soothing plant ingredient. Safe.
Safflower Glucoside (INCI: Safflower Glucoside) is a plant-derived component from safflower. It is used to calm skin and support a more even tone, with a gentle profile on skin. On efficacy, this is a supporting component. The evidence base for its action on human skin is modest, and most of what is attributed to it comes from lab studies. It adds to a soothing formula, but no visible change should be expected from it alone. Because of its topical use and lack of systemic relevance, it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding without concern. Tolerance is good: low irritation and allergy potential. As with any botanical derivative, a sensitized person could react, though most skin sees nothing.
