Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil is the essential oil of eucalyptus leaves, rich in 1,8-cineole (eucalyptol). It's added to creams, hair products and body care mainly for its fresh, herbaceous scent and a mild cooling sensation. On efficacy: it works as a sensory and aroma agent rather than a skincare active. Claims about purifying or antimicrobial effects on skin rest on lab data that doesn't translate into a clear benefit in the finished product. Treat it as a natural fragrance component. In topical use at usual cosmetic levels it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding; it's sensible to limit strong essential oils on irritated skin. Baseline irritation is low, but allergy risk is medium: eucalyptol and oxidized terpenes sensitize some people. Most don't react, but sensitive or dermatitis-prone skin should patch test first.
