Rice Bran Water (Oryza Sativa Bran Water) is a filtrate after boiling or fermenting rice bran in water. Contains water-soluble components – amino acids, oligopeptides, minerals, low-molecular-weight carbohydrates. Mechanism. Humectant – retains water in the stratum corneum. Amino acids replenish NMF. In fermented form (galactomyces fermented filtrate, SK-II Pitera) has brightening and anti-aging effects. Where applied. Japanese and Korean toners, essences, serums. In Spain found in niche cosmetics, less in mass market. Concentration 5–95% (often as the aqueous base of the formula). Evidence base. Clinical RCTs of fermented rice water (galactomyces) – SK-II studies showed texture improvement and brightening over 12 weeks (Aramaki 2014). For pure unfermented water – the evidence is weaker. CIR confirmed safety. Safety. Hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic. Pregnancy and lactation – topically safe.
