Rice Bran Wax (Oryza Sativa Bran Wax) is a natural wax obtained from rice grain husks. Composition: fatty acid and alcohol esters (C36–C50), phytosterols. Similar in properties to carnauba wax but less rigid and more plastic. Mechanism. Occlusive and structurant – forms a soft film on the skin, retains moisture, adds texture to lipsticks, balms, creams. In protective creams forms a barrier against water and irritants. Where applied. Lipsticks, lip balms, protective creams, hand and cuticle products, stick antiperspirants. Concentration 1–15%. A vegan alternative to beeswax. Evidence base.
