A hydrating plant water. Safe.
Rice water (INCI Oryza Sativa Rice Seed Water) is the aqueous fraction taken from the rice grain. It carries amino acids, sugars and trace minerals, and in a formula it acts as a hydrating, soothing base that partly replaces plain water. It gives a soft, fresh feel in cleansers, toners and essences. On efficacy, let's stay grounded. This is a supporting ingredient, not a treatment active. It hydrates the upper layer and eases tightness, but it does not fade pigment or smooth wrinkles despite rice's traditional reputation. The value is in texture and tolerance, not in a measurable effect on skin. Topically the systemic exposure is negligible, so it is fine to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is high. Irritation and allergy risk are both low, which makes it suitable for sensitive and reactive skin. It is non-comedogenic and does not dry the skin. Only those with a known rice allergy should avoid it.
