A modified plant oil. It softens skin and helps hold pigments in the formula. Well tolerated.
Topical application
BLimited evidence. One RCT or several controlled studies with limitations.
A functional emollient. Safe.
Oxidized Corn Oil (INCI: Oxidized Corn Oil) is corn oil altered by controlled oxidation. That process changes its texture and affinity, letting it soften the skin and, in makeup, help disperse and hold pigments in the formula. It appears in creams, lipsticks and color products. On efficacy it is a functional component with an emollient action. It improves the feel and cohesion of the product, but it is not a targeted treatment active. Its contribution stays in comfort and texture, not in structural changes to the skin. For topical use it has no systemic relevance and can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good, with low irritation potential and low allergy risk. Its comedogenicity is moderate (2 out of 5), so oily or acne-prone skin should watch how it behaves within the full formula.
