Soluble Proteoglycan is a biopolymer from connective tissue, a protein bound to glycosaminoglycan chains. Its INCI matches the name. In a formula it acts as a humectant: it draws water into the surface layer and helps hold it, which gives a sense of greater firmness and comfort. As a surface hydrator it does its job and the feel is usually pleasant. Be realistic about the anti-aging claim: it hydrates well and improves skin short-term, but it does not rebuild the dermal matrix from the outside. It is a good supporting hydration component, not a stand-in for your own collagen. Topically it has no systemic relevance, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good, with low irritation and allergy, fine for sensitive skin. There is no evidence of meaningful comedogenicity.
