An aqueous collagen solution. It holds moisture and supports skin softness at the surface. Well tolerated.

BLimited evidence. One RCT or several controlled studies with limitations.
A hydrating ingredient. Safe.
Collagen water (INCI: Collagen Water) is an aqueous collagen solution. In a formula it works as a hydrating base: collagen acts as a humectant that draws and holds water at the surface, leaving skin softer and more comfortable to the touch. It pays to be honest about efficacy. Collagen applied topically does not penetrate or rebuild the dermis's own collagen – its molecule is too large. Its real value is surface hydration and feel, not structural anti-aging action. As a supporting humectant it works, without the claims sometimes attached to it. Topically there is no meaningful systemic passage, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good, with low irritation and allergy potential. It suits sensitive skin and rarely causes a reaction.
