Acetamide MEA is a humectant and skin conditioner. On the label it reads Acetamide MEA. In a formula it draws water into the stratum corneum and smooths the surface, leaving skin softer and more supple to the touch. On efficacy, place it precisely: it is a functional hydrating component, not a treatment active with anti-ageing or repairing action. Its job is to hold moisture and improve the slip of the formula, and it does that. It gives comfort, not transformation. For pregnancy and breastfeeding there is no restriction. Its systemic exposure through skin is minimal, so it can be used. Tolerance is good. Irritation potential and allergy risk are low, which makes it compatible with sensitive skin. As a simple humectant it rarely causes discomfort at the usual concentrations.
