Acetyl Tyrosine is a derivative of the amino acid tyrosine, listed in INCI under the same name. In cosmetics it is used as a skin conditioner and as a source of amino acids that help keep skin soft. It appears mostly in serums and moisturizers. As an active it is a supporting component. Amino acids contribute to surface hydration and comfort, but evidence for a clear anti-aging effect is modest. It adds to a good formula rather than carrying it alone. Applied topically it has no systemic relevance, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good, with low irritation and allergy potential, which makes it suitable for sensitive skin. In practice it almost never causes reactions.
