BLimited evidence. One RCT or several controlled studies with limitations.
A nourishing plant oil. Safe.
Prunus Domestica Seed Oil is plum seed oil. In cosmetics it acts as an emollient: it nourishes, softens and helps reinforce the lipid barrier, leaving the skin more supple and comfortable. It is rich in unsaturated fatty acids. As an active it supports the barrier and hydration. Plant oils like this genuinely improve softness and reduce water loss, especially on dry skin, without being a treatment for wrinkles or pigmentation. In topical use it has no systemic relevance, so it can be applied during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Irritation and allergy potential are low, so it usually suits sensitive skin. With one caveat: its comedogenicity is moderate (level 2), so on oily or acne-prone skin use it thoughtfully, in small amounts or in balanced formulas. Because it comes from a Prunus stone fruit, anyone allergic to stone fruits should keep it in mind.
